This time of year I can always feel the bone woman close, she lingers on the edges of the wild, just outside of where most humans live and holds space for our grief…

She gathers up the bones carefully, mindfully, lovingly and places them in sacred spots away from prying eyes, and according to myth, sometimes she brings them to life…

The bone woman is wild herself, and she by no means fits into convention, preferring instead her own wild company and the bones she gathers.

She is old, but not if you look long enough, if you are ever given the opportunity that is…

n many ways remnants of the bone woman live within us, and sometimes her cackle can be heard coming from our mouths, which depending on the woman may be stifled by a hand placed over the mouth or even more loudly accentuated…

The shawl is full of bone woman energy including a nod to her wild hair and crone aspect in the colours I used.

The drum is a 14″ elk drum with a deer antler handle and the mallet has a reindeer bone handle with deer leather and small bone beads dangling from the side.
