Description

This piece was inspired by the dark lava rocks from Hawaii that I loved so much while visiting many years ago, as well as the deep fires that are contained in the live volcanos on the islands.

In Hawaii Pele is the goddess of volcanos and fire and the creator of the Hawaiian islands, she is a force to be reckoned with and it is said that those who take her stones when they leave the island can sometimes be cursed, especially if they take stones without asking!

This piece is all black lava with gold threads running through, and of course the middle-ish of this shawl is the bright lave fire contained within…

This is a power piece, ready to find its new owner….

The wool is Malabrigo, cotton and of course pure wool, along with the gold threads that are most likely human made.
