This winter has been one dedicated to waters, and in this way water has found itself channeled into my weavings and paint, into my dreams and now into these talismans.

This set of pieces were dedicated in honour of the waters that sustain us, carry us and nourish our creative and emotional worlds. To wear one is to carry a little bit of water with us, to choose to honour the waters that flow through every crevice and pace on this earth from our own bodies to the deepest of underground rivers….

Each one of these talismans has been cleansed in river water and lovingly placed in a fabric bag for safekeeping, until its person finds it.

This piece I strung using both Turquoise and matte Crysocolla beads, bringing the fullness of each of these water stones into being to create this stunning protective talisman.

Turquoise is a sacred, ancient stone revered for its deep spiritual, protective, and healing properties making it perfect to be worn as a talisman.

it is also a stone known to symbolize the union between sky and water…Turquoise is also associated with the throat chakra, it promotes clear communication, emotional balance, and spiritual growth. 

Chrysocolla is a powerful, water-element stone of intuition and communication, and is often referred to as a “Stone of the Goddess”.

This stone supports the wearer to release any emotional blockages that no longer support their greater good, the same way water will clean all that is in its path. Its soothing blue-green hues promote calm, balance, and the peaceful expression of one’s inner truth.
