This weaving is a piece that contains both love, and the fury of all that I am as a woman, bright and red as a rose and also filled with thorns of protection.
I wanted to create a piece for those who love Roses, and Mary Magdalene, and wish for a prayer shawl to wrap themselves in while they sit in their spiritual work.

Of course as often happens, while I was weaving my thoughts turned to my beads. I remembered a Mary Magdalene piece I bought years ago on a trip to France, and I strung it with ruby red Garnets making it a powerful talisman.

Garnets are known as the stone of protection and passion, travellers often wear them as a talisman to ward off negative entities and energies and for safety.
Whoever claims this piece can choose whether or not to add the talisman, but the shawl will come wrapped in a hand painted cloth bag with a small bottle of my Rose Ambrosia drops.
The shawl is 21″ wide and 90″ long and wove using merino wool, silk sari strops and metalic gold thread, as well as some deep red wool that I brought back from a recent trip to Morocco.
