Ancient Neolithic Trypillian Goddess Amulet
$155.00
I have long been fascinated by the life work of archeologist Marija Gimbutas whom I discovered around the same time we were writing our book Moon Mysteries, as I wanted to dive into ancient findings of a matrilineal world and her work deeply reflects this, as in her findings she discovered many sites of neolithic goddess figurines.
Carved onto these small figurines were beautiful details of spirals and chevrons and, coils, serpents and other lines each holding sacred meanings, most of which tie into the spirals of life, death and rebirth.
The first of these were found in both Romania and Ukraine and and these date back to the first millennium BC, and have been linked to the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture, which dominated a large swath of Eastern Europe during the Late Neolithic period
The figurines were likely used during Trypillian ceremonial practices, and archaeologists have identified these small statuettes as being sacred objects that can protect people from harm and promote fertility of the land. This was my starting and inspiration point for this offering.
This piece has been rubbed with red ochre and is embraced by some stunning Amber beads which are ancient memory keepers, as often they hold small insects and other pieces of our ancestral history. Amber was considered the “soul of the tiger” in Asian cultures and regarded as the stone of courage. Pieces of amber were carried for protection during long travels, as it is a resin that helps with anxiety and brings a grounding calming effect tho those that carry or wear it.
I have also added a couple of larger Turquoise beads which are renowned for its healing properties. This stone is said to have a calming and balancing effect on emotions, promoting inner peace and tranquility. Turquoise is also believed to enhance communication and intuition, making it beneficial for those seeking clarity and self-expression. By wearing turquoise, one may experience enhanced confidence, heightened intuition, and a deep connection to one’s inner voice.
Lastly the small blue beads on each side and at the ends is Ocean Jasper which is a special one as it is only able to be found off the cliff’s in Madagascar at low tide and is formed by the ocean itself. This stone is said to bring in the large essence of the ocean to those who wear it and it supports our solar plexus, heart, and throat chakras. it supports us in regulating our emotions and helps one release any weight or strains one may carry on their heart, as it urges you to vocalize and move forward from these issues. Just like the water that helped create this magical stone, one must be willing to “go with the flow” when accepting this stones energy.
