Over the past couple of months I have been slowly and intentionally working on a new collection of weavings dedicated to the elementals which I often refer to as the first four ancestors.

Earth, Air, Fire and Water are all fundamental to our well being and survival on this beautiful planet we call home.

Our bodies are made up of these elementals and when we die our bodies return to them as we go back to the earth.

As I sat with not just a colour palette dedicated to these beautiful ancestors I also wanted to channel the movement and play within each so those who wear these creations also can move and play, catching the trail of their essence as they cloak themselves in these weavings.

The Fire shawl was a playful endeavour as I looked into the many colours found within the flame, orange and red, but also deep layers of blue and purple which tend to look black here but if you look closely enough you can see they are there, along with threads of silver and gold to pick up on the shimmer and magic of fire.

The yarn here is mostly Malabrigo merino yarn, cotton and of metallic threads of silver and gold.
