Ethiopean Camel Bone Pendant/amulet

Ethiopean Camel Bone Pendant/amulet

$165.00

There are many different stories are associated with these bone pendants. Traditionally, they were worn at the end of long necklaces made from African trade beads. Some believe that they were used as medicine or divining sticks. It is also believed to be a symbol of wealth and that the number of circles denote the number of cattle owned, although some say it was for protection agains the evil eye.
This talisman was so fun to create as I really wanted to pull out grounding stones and wood.

The main part of this piece was made using wooden mala beads each of which has been inlaid with twisted brass. I love using wood because as an earth elemental it is so grounding to wear.

I also added some Etched Tibetan agate beads which add in an element of protection, courage and tranquility, but these ones have small eyes on the sides which as beautiful for dispelling negative energies.
