Ancestral Altar Cloth Weaving
Our ancestors are more connected to us than we may think, and they play an important role in what we are handed down from family member to family member, both the good and the bad.
Many of us however have lost sight of who our ancestors were, and how we might be connected to them.
As a weaver and ancestral healer, I would say, that the fabric of our ancestral legacy has holes that need reparing, or re-weaving as it were...
This workshop is an opportunity to sit in a safe container and explore not only your connection to your ancestors, but to begin the repair and weaving work of re-connecting once again.
In this week-end workshop we will:
~Participents will weave their own unique Ancestral Altar Cloth.
~We will open the weekend in ceremony whereby each participent will be invited to connect in journey with a healing ancestor.
~Together as a group we will engange in an ancestral offering ceremony, whereby we invite in these safe and loving ancestors to support us in our weaving work.
~Participents will have the opportunity to sit with a full colour palatte and choose a spectrum of colours and textures that carry meaning for them and their ancestors that they will being into the weaving, including any fabrics or items they may have brought from home with them.
Practical Details:
~ Paeticipents will be using Rigid Heddle looks to create their altar cloths and I will be teaching the basics of warping and weaving on one of these looms.
~I will provide all of the yarn unless participents wish to bring some of their own from home
~This workshop is only open to 6 participents, as I wish to create a tight and safe container for our work.
