Weave a Sacred Selkie Pelt.

Have you heard the story of the selkie/seal woman who had her pelt stolen?

Have you ever felt or related to her story?

In this two day ceremonial workshop we will be drawing deeply on the story of the selkie woman, and the reclamation of her pelt, as we weave our own sacred pelts into being.

During the workshop participants will each weave a sacred Selkie pelt as we dive deeply into the reclamation of our own sacred stories of what we have given away and what wants reclaiming now!

In this two day workshop we will gather together in circle and community. Surrounded by the forest, and ponds and snugged in tight within the temple space on Neptune farm on Salt Spring Island.

Together we will be working with the story of the Selkie woman who had her pelt stolen and then made the hard decision to leave everything behind in order to follow her wild soul's calling.

During our time together we will be working with themes of what our wild souls are calling us forward to do or work on, and how we can each reclaim parts of ourselves that perhaps we left behind or had stolen...

Using hand-spun yarns and fibers that match the colours of the selkie pelt that Nikiah will be preparing over the winter months, we will weave long scarf like pelts that can serve either as something that can be used to keep us warm or as a stole that sits over the shoulder.

These are ceremonial pieces that we are crafting together in community and will carry the magic of the intention and reclamation that you weave into it.

This is an experiential workshop with a focus on the craft itself, and not focused on the educational in's and out's of warping a loom. As such each loom will come pre-warped so that we can focus on the sacred task at hand.
